This post may not be for those of us who are unsettled by the thought of pesky stink bugs! Every now and then we come across something unusual and are just as surprised as you would be. Pictured below, these stink bugs managed to somehow crawl into the backflow preventer cap and cause the seal to fail. This leak was not enough to cause a flood or pooling effect, but it was wasting water. If you notice water leaking consistently from your backflow preventer or really any component of your irrigation system, it never hurts to call your contractor to come take a look. As Irrigation contractors it is our responsibility to do our part to conserve water and protect planet earth.
